Company job boards are configured and implemented as part of an organisation's corporate website providing a way for candidates seeking opportunities to find a suitable vacancy.  iCams helps organisations attract and retain the interest of candidates who visit their job board.

Job opening lists

Job opening lists are a simple list of all job vacancies.  However, refinements can be provided such as vacancies by date e.g. today/ this week/ this month or vacancies by user defined categories e.g. Location, type, function etc .  The ease of iCams is paramount, giving the applicant a simple and efficient method by which to search, select and apply for a vacancy.

Search functionality

Search functionality is determined by three methods;-

  • Simple search uses basic keyword search options.
  • Extended search offers additional criteria such as location, contract, permanent, salary, function, etc.
  • Reference number search is for vacancies with a reference code and is often used for vacancies advertised in newspapers or journals.

Information on new job openings via RSS (Really Simple Syndication)

RSS can be easily implemented for candidates.  It is far more effective for organisations to keep in touch with prospective candidates about new opportunities and vacancies than to expect them to regularly return to the website to check for updates.  iCams gives candidates a simple and free RSS feed to obtain regular opportunity/vacancy bulletins.  RSS feeds are easily embedded within a candidate's own personal homepage (Google, Yahoo, etc) or by means of a browser (Firefox, Internet Exoplorer, etc) or within Outlook 2007.

Opportunities via e-mail

Opportunities via email can be communicated to potential candidates.  They can request updates using the search criteria they previously specified and emails are set-up on a pre-determined regular daily or weekly pattern.  This enables an organisation to keep in regular and relevant contact with potential candidates who in turn are confident that their interest has been acknowledged and actioned and that the organisation for whom they are keen to work is interested in them.

Finding your vacancies via search engines e.g. Google, Yahoo and Bing

The simplest and cheapest way to ensure each vacancy is visible to potential candidates is to use the large search engines. They have become the most simple and economical tool to effectively ensure vacancies are visitble to as many potential candidates as possible. In order to work well, however, search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, Mircrosoft Live, etc) must index each vacancy and have up to date information.  It is irritating for all concerned if insufficient information is available about a vacancy, particularly if it has been filled or withdrawn.  We have designed iCams to allow easy notification and indexing of an organisation's vacancies through all the major seach engines.  Organisations can be confident that only current and accurate vacancy data is available to candidates whilst candidates can be sure that the position is still available - no frustrations or wasted time for either party.
