The candidate portal allows job-seekers to take control of their own application process. Once a job-seeker has decided to apply for a specific vacancy (job opening) it is easy for them to ensure they supply all the required information at their own pace. Once the candidate has applied they can easily view the status of the process without having to contact anyone. Candidates can modify data, or view the status of their application or withdraw from the hiring process without having to get in touch with the employer.

The iCams candidate portal typically operates using a secure web browser i.e. SSL, this ensures compliance with data protection and will give confidence to the applicant in submitting personal, confidential information. Each applicant has a unique username and password. In addition the applicant can track complete history of all activity and all communication e.g. email details.

Data access

Each job-applicant using the candidate portal has a unique a user name and password. User names can be established as a free text field or coupled to the e-mail address of the candidate. The password can be amended at anytime. Icams provides an easy method to help manage and support users who have forgotten password and also possible duplicate applicants.

Personal details

Initially all job-seekers will be asked to complete a basic registration form containing personal data. If the job-seeker applies for more than one vacancy, they do not have to re-enter this data. It is easy for the candidate to maintain and update any personal details at anytime e.g. contact details, availability etc. This means everyone involved in the recruitment process is working on the same correct information.

Files store

All types of files e.g. CV, reference letters, photo graphs etc can be stored using the Candidate portal. All popular file formats are supported e.g. MSword, RTF, PowerPoint, Excel, zip and PDF. For CV’s icams immediately creates a text version of this & is automatically indexed and available for searching using Oracles embedded text engine. The original file is also maintained.

Managing saved searches

Candidates can be notified by e-mail all new job openings that match their specific search criteria. The specific search criteria can be created automatically based on the criteria used in either a simple or extended query. The job-seeker can then request that these searches run automatically when they want to view the results e.g. on a daily, fixed day on the week. They can do this for any specific search for up to 8 weeks. The results are sent by e-mail.

Transparancy of the application process

With icams the application process for the candidate becomes as transparent as you want. You can decide what information regarding the steps and status of the candidate’s application that you wish the candidate to see. This typically will mean the candidate is fully aware of what is happening and has no need to contact you directly. In addition you are able to automate email or sms messages at any step, so again you can easily automate notification to a candidate of relevant activity.

Withdrawing an application

Candidates can withdraw their application for a vacancy at anytime and this automatically updates their status. The candidate and the recruiter both receive a confirmation email of this.
